Colorful Expressions

The Art of David M. Gillespie - Rather than describe things, David wants his art to make a true expression of his passions. He works in a variety of media and styles varying from intricate brushwork and fine detail to his "Touch Paintings", created by applying the paint directly with his fingertips. David was born and raised in Appalachia. Growing up amid lush mountain foliage imbued him with love for the bright colors of the flowers of spring and the leaves of autumn and the harmony and balance of the rushing mountain streams  of summer and the snow laden trees of winter.  These are the elements he wants to be foremost in his art. A "Meet the Artist" wine/cheese/jazz reception featuring Tommy Lee will be August 13, 6 to 8 pm. Admission is free.

"Cultural Abstracts: New works by Everett Spruill"

Everett explores his personal world of contemporary aesthetics and culture. He creates a dialogue with the viewers of his ethnically inspired images using his own mixed media visual language. Spruill creates images in bold colors using a variety of mediums. His images are ethereal, thought provoking and spiritual as they illustrate his Afro-centric visions. A "Meet the Artist" wine/cheese/jazz reception will be Sept. 9, 6 to 8 pm. Admission is free.
