STEINWAY PIANO GALLERIES GRAND RE-OPENING SEPT. 29. ALSO LAUNCHES POP-UP PIANOS SEMINOLE FOR 2014
The Steinway Piano Galleries will celebrate its grand re-opening Friday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. with a reception featuring the work of artist Derek Gores at the new Galleries location at Ashby’s Square, 520 W. Hwy. 436 Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. The event also marks the launch of the fundraising initiative Pop-Up Pianos Seminole for 2014.
"There was such a positive response from our inaugural Pop-Up fundraiser in 2012, that the Steinway Society of Central Florida, Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center and Seminole Cultural Arts Council have decided to offer it to the community again," said Gary Grimes, Society president. "We are indebted to the hard-working volunteers from all three organizations which made the initial event a success."
In 2014, pianos decorated by established central Florida artists will pop-up on locations around the region. They will be auctioned off at a Piano Idol Concert in the spring at the Wayne Densch Theater. To see last year's Pop-Up painted pianos and videos from the concert, go to the facebook page ‘Pop-Up Pianos Seminole’.
About the Galleries: The new Steinway Galleries feature a spacious open showroom, new Steinway Recital Hall, private and class teaching studios, and easier access from State Road 436.
